Ignited by customer needs and expectations, the Ford Model e is crafting an outstanding experience for customers transitioning into the exciting world of battery electric vehicles. We are seeking an experienced advanced projects manager to bridge new electric vehicles capabilities, like V2X, into the market to make Ford’s electric vehicles serve customers in ways their vehicles have never done before. Ford’s Energy Services portfolio continues to grow and seamless access to the market for customers is as important as the new capabilities customers can access with their electric vehicles.
Energy Service solutions make EV adoption an easier choice for customers because their vehicles will unlock value increasing the role EVs play in their lives. New energy value opportunities, through vehicles, are experiences foreign to most customers and creating an high value easy experience by working with the electric industry, internal Ford stake holders, new technology companies, energy markets, etc through pilots and early market introductions will create a new opportunity for Ford and its customers.
To succeed in this role, a candidate will be able to navigate new products, services, and integrations through Ford internal processes and stake holders, partnerships and commercial developments, and market stake holders, to identify outcomes for Ford’s new technology through their introductions to industry and adoption.
What you'll do...
-Lead Ford’s first venture into smart home energy services with the integration/coordination of EV and smart home 3rd party platforms.
-Lead Ford’s Energy Service business development into new technologies, capabilities and markets
This includes:
•Ford’s Early Access Program Initiatives
•Early market technology introductions and beta rollouts
•Wholesale market development
•Support advanced gird and energy pilots for example introduction of new technology like vehicle-to-grid, virtual power plants, etc
•Serve as primary contact and lead for University Partner Programs
•And other evolving spaces in energy related to plug-in vehicles
•Lead third party negotiations and commercial contracts
•Develop business models and further business revenue opportunities for Ford
•Identify optimized value propositions for customers
•Validate business objective development through pilots, beta market projects, and 3rd party company integrations.
•Interface with smart home device providers (ie thermostat, solar/storage, and potentially other home energy device companies) to develop solutions for business objectives and program requirements; work with internal Ford vehicle and cloud teams to cascade requirements and ensure delivery with cross functional Ford teams
•Manage overall EV-Home Energy Platform project(s) (deliverables and timing) across all internal stakeholders and support activities
•Work with Customer Experience Team to support definition and development of customer journeys across all channels (in-home, web, app, in-vehicle) to meet objectives
•Work with Legal and Marketing on review of customer communications
You'll have...
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree
•4+ years of experience with Product or Project Management of a technical nature
Even better, you may have...
•2+ years of experience working in any of the following fields: home energy management, consumer IoT devices, connectivity, electric utility industry, wholesale energy markets, or other related areas
•Strong interest in electrification, energy, and innovation
•Understanding and experience with smart home technology and cloud-based ecosystems
•Has product/service launch or in-market product support service experience
•Has experience running beta and pilot programs and projects from scoping through deployment
•Strong organizational skills, including coordinating cross-functional teams, and managing and tracking requirements
•Thrives in a cross-functional environment and keeps team members connected and motivated
•Ability to communicate clearly across functions and at all layers of management
•Ability to come up to speed quickly where there are gaps in knowledge or experience
•Self-starter who delivers on-time results with high quality and works well in teams, and enjoys ownership of decisions and outcomes
•Ability to establish a systems approach to solving problems
•Leverages multiple forms of communication to keep teams moving
•Optimistic and positive, meets challenges with a ‘what can be done’ attitude, and not discouraged by push back or process/system constraints
•Willingness to champion new processes, working in white spaces for the company, and agile development with a customer-focused mindset

Qualifications
