Body Interior – Plastic engineer
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of GPDS deliverables and reporting engineering status to Functional and Program management team.
- Responsible for supporting cross functional issue resolution with other PMTs & Core Organizations (e.g. Studio, Electrical,Powertrain, Vehicle Engineering, A&U, Craftsmanship, Purchasing, Manufacturing) and represent Body Interior engineering at key forums
- Responsible for supporting the iterative process of engineering and design team.
- Collaborate and coordinate with program teams to ensure all actions and/or issues are completed or resolved on time
Duties
- Knowledge with Automotive design processes / Systems engineering
- Experience in Body Interior engineering Design & development (from Scratch to Launch)
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing
- understands cost targets /estimates and develops delivery plans including tough choices and recovery plan (if required) together with the engineering teams in line with program cost & budgets
- understands and actively supports program sourcing strategies in line with purchasing, finance and program timing needs
- Communicate issues with key stakeholders in a professional manners
- Supports and enforces program specific milestone approvals
- Supporting CAD-based (DPA) and Physical Design Verification (DV) testing to support Engineering Sign-Off
- Support BI Launch -- onsite launch support both domestic and international as well as VO Assembly Plants (Sanand & Chennai)
Other Information
- Needs to be flexible with time management to support out of hours reviews as required to deliver the above duties.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Essential Skills Required
- Package and/or CAD (CATIA V5 / TCE / VisMockup) experience is essential.
- Working experience with studio engineering team for Design feasibility like Master section and concept surface development.
- Experience in working with a team from a broad range of cross-functional areas with often competing objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the issue resolution process. A broad understanding of all major vehicle systems and a customer focused mindset is required to facilitate this process.
- High energy, self-starter, with the ability and desire to take the responsibility to deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Usage of reliability tools (Reliability and Robustness Check List (RRCL), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), P- Diagrams) to demonstrate system compatibility to targets.
- Ability and courage to effectively communicate key issues and make informed recommendations to senior management.
- Team player with a positive and flexible can-do attitude.
- Excellent in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Power Point
- Ability to lead and work with a cross functional team across international time zones.
- Plastic toold design will be added advantage.
Employment Experience Required
- Minimum 3-7 years technical experience in Automotive, preferably, in interior commodities
